Osala was called up on Wednesday to fill in for Canes' forward Erik Cole, who had been out with an illness. Cole returned to action last night.
Osala skated one game with Carolina, playing a limited role and registering just 6:46 of ice-time.
Osala has 31 points (15 G, 16 A) in 55 AHL games this season with Hershey and Albany.
