Bowman returned; Zanoski released

The Carolina Hurricanes today reassigned rookie forward Drayson Bowman to the River Rats, while Albany released Tom Zanoski from his professional tryout contract. 

Canes' forwards Chad LaRose and Sergei Samsonov are both expected to return to the NHL line-up tonight after missing several games with injuries.

Bowman returns to the Rats after making his big league debut with the Hurricanes on Saturday night. Bowman skated 15 shifts, registering 10:23 of ice-time and one shot on goal.

Bowman has eight goals and seven assists in 26 games with Albany this season. He has goals in his last two contests with the Rats.

Tom Zanoski will return to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL after playing two games with the Rats this past Friday and Saturday. Zanoski was held scoreless with Albany, but picked up three shots on goal and two penalty minutes.
