Rats recall Morrison

The Albany River Rats today recalled veteran goaltender Mike Morrison from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Morrison returns to Albany for the second time this season, having served as a back-up to Mike Murphy in November when Justin Peters was in Carolina. Now, with Murphy injured, Morrison will back up Peters.

After 22 games with the Everblades this season, Morrison has a 9-10-3 record with one shutout, a 2.89 goals against average, and .899 save percentage.

The 30-year-old netminder has played for teams in every corner of North America and has even spent time playing overseas. The University of Maine of graduate has seen time in the NHL, AHL, ECHL and Swedish and Slovenian leagues, including a rather successful 21-game ride with the Edmonton Oilers in 2005-06.
